We're here to help.

WestHealth participates in most insurance plans. We will submit insurance claims for you for the services we provide, including urgent care, same-day surgery, imaging, mammography and laboratory testing. An elective surgery, such as plastic surgery, generally is not covered by health insurance. It is always a good idea to verify your insurance coverage with your health plan prior to your appointment or surgery.

For your security and to ensure accurate billing, you will be asked for a picture ID and current insurance information each time you check in for an appointment. Please alert us to any changes in insurance or personal information.

If you are a member of a health plan that requires a referral, please verify that WestHealth has received authorization to provide services to you prior to your appointment. If you are unsure about your coverage, contact your insurance company.

Prepayment and co-pays

Many insurance plans require their members to contribute to their health care costs with an out-of-pocket payment called a co-pay. All co-payments are collected at the time of service.

A down payment of $75 is required prior to receiving urgent care services, if you do not have health insurance.

Prepayment is required two weeks in advance for all elective plastic surgery procedures that are not covered by insurance.

Worker's compensation

If you are being seen for a work-related injury, WestHealth needs the following information to submit a worker's compensation claim for you: employer information, a claim number, the date of injury and your worker's compensation insurance company name, address and telephone number.

If you are unable to provide this information, Patient Account Services will be unable to process your claim. You will be personally responsible for your account balance until you are able to provide the necessary information.

Billing and payment

Accounts are due upon receipt of your first statement. You are responsible for paying any deductible, co-insurance or other balance that is not paid by your insurance. WestHealth does not bill out-of-state Medical Assistance or non-U.S. insurance plans.

Following a test or surgical procedure, you may receive more than one bill. One statement will be from WestHealth. You may also receive separate statements from physicians involved with your diagnosis or care, such as a surgeon, anesthesiologist or radiologist. Finally, you may receive additional bills for lab work or a biopsy, if samples are sent to an outside reference lab for further testing.

If you receive care from a doctor who has an office at WestHealth, payment for medical services will be determined by the insurance and billing policies of that physician practice.
