Staffed by doctors from Abbott Northwestern Hospital and Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota who specialize in emergency medicine.

Use the Emergency Department for serious medical conditions or emergencies such as:

• Chest pain or heaviness in chest
• Difficulty breathing/shortness of breath
• Sudden or severe pain
• Broken bones
• Head injuries/loss of consciousness
• Confusion or inability to speak
• Facial arm/leg weakness
• Speech problems/slurred speech
• Deep or complicated cuts
• High fever
• Serious respiratory symptoms
• Feelings of doom
• Numbness/tingling
• Suicidal feelings
• Any condition you want addressed by an emergency medicine physician

All patients receive a screening evaluation. Based on established medical guidelines, a triage nurse determines the appropriate level of care – Emergency Department or Urgent Care.

An Emergency Department visit costs more than a visit to the urgent care clinic.
