Patient Satisfaction Results

As of May 2010

99.6% of WestHealth patients would recommend a family member or friend.

Overall satisfaction rating:  3.86 on a 4 point scale.

As part of our ongoing commitment to quality and service, our patients are given the opportunity to complete a patient care experience survey at the conclusion of each WestHealth visit.

The survey rates the following factors:

  • Registration and wait experience
  • Physicians and staff interactions
  • Appointment convenience/ phone service
  • Thoroughness of exam/ procedure
  • Pain Management
  • Aftercare and follow up

Upon completion, WestHealth patients leave the survey at the department check-in area where they received services or at the greeter desk in the main atrium. Patients can also request a prepaid envelope, if they prefer to complete the survey at home.

The sixth public report of information from Minnesota's Adverse Health Event (AHE) reporting system is due out in mid January 2010, which will summarize both aggregate and individual facility data for the period October 7, 2008 through October 6, 2009.  No Adverse health events occurred during this time.

The report is released by the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and the Minnesota Hospital Association (MHA) and is part of a statewide effort to improve patient safety in Minnesota.  Legislation was signed into law in July 2003 to create a system for medical providers to report and share information regarding adverse health events at their facilities.  As a result, implementation allows sharing of best practices to improve existing processes to result in better patient care outcomes.
